Ball Ballin' Preview: Purple Desert

Ola Amigos! It's me Patricky Rubio bringing you basketball afficionados your ball ballin' preview. It's a busy night across the league with 11 head-to-head matches, so sit down, relax, and let's get this party started!

The Watcha-Balls (The Check-if-your-heart's-still-beating games)

Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns
It was a big win by Team Hollywood last night against a reeling Pistons team to regain lost confidence back. Meanwhile, the sun seems to finally be setting in Phoenix after a sorry loss to DMC and the young Kings. 40 pts or more by the Black Mamba should move him past the Big O and 9th in the all-time scoring list, but a victory nowadays for Tinseltown won't compare to any individual milestone.

San Antonio Spurs at Boston Celtics
The Spurs visit their Eastern counterpart Celtics in a showdown of conference leaders as they continue their 2nd game of a back-to-back after being punished by a high-octane Knicks offense that dropped 128 markers. Expect both teams to take pride in their defense in winning this one as the Celtics have won 5 of their last 7 matches with the Spurs.

Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers
Despite continuous distractions over the season, Melo's 33pt outburst against the Rockets in their last game is a manifestation of the discipline and focus this guy's filled in, day in and day out. With Big Al back, Nuggets look to gun for 3-0 in their season match-up against the Griffin and his Clips.

The Tolera-Balls (The They're-ok-just-not-as-exciting-as-the-games-above games)

Portland Trailblazers at Houston Rockets
Greg Oden, Yao Ming, and now Brandon Roy joins the elite injured cast of "what could have beens" hall of fame superstars. Despite being mired with key injuries, Rip City and Space City (Now, thats cool!) have been playing well and are currently seated at the 8th and 9th spot in the rugged West. And I forgot, Chuck Hayes is also injured, does he also join the cast?

Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Hornets
CP3 looks to build on their improved defense as the high-powered backcourt of Ellis and Curry visit the Big Easy. Hornets will try to gun for their 4th win in a row after limiting their last three opponents below 80 pts while the Warriors look to close their 5-game road party after being devoured by Dwight and co. in Orlando.

Washington Wizards at Philadelphia 76ers

Its Wall vs Turner III in another Eastern Conference match-up where the Wizards look to finally nail road win number 1 after 17 tries. Wall has been owning Turner in the last two meetings by averaging close to 27 and 10 dimes against Turner's 10pts. Can Evan finally TURN-er it up?

The Forgetta-Balls (The Ok-we-need-to-complete-today's-schedule games)

Charlotte Bobcats at Minnesota Timberwolves
Wallace-less Cats look to win 9 out of the last 10 against a Timberwolves team that came close to upsetting the defending East champs, only to have a questionable end game call in the dying seconds. There aint anything much excitement in this match-up, but well be glad to see a another monster performance from Kevin Love just like this.

Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers
Il Mago hopes to erase Toronto's longest losing streak to an NBA city as they take on the Wine and Gold which have been hit by the injury bug recently. The Cavs, last years Eastern Conference numero uno, is now the East's doormat and losers of 17 of 18, and a victory over Team Canada will at least alleviate the losing.

Chicago Bulls at New Jersey Nets
DRose and the Bulls are looking sharp after shooting 14 wins out of the last 16 and boy, does it get any easier against a struggling Nets team on a 5 game slump? The only good news for Mr. Prokhorov? Mr. Sharapova continues to impress us with his contribution.

Milwaukee Bucks at Orlando Magic
Otis Smith's new magicians have been playing under some kind of magic lately as they have cruised to six straight victories and are now facing a Bucks team which has been obliterated by NBA's newest pop sensation, the Heatles. A win tonight might just push them to sweet seven. No one is fearing the deer lately and their next game doesnt get any better when another Miami annihilation awaits. Yikes!

Atlanta Hawks at Utah Jazz
D-Will looks to catch-up with the defending champs in the wild, wild west against a Hawks team looking to get a 3rd straight road W before returning at the Philips Arena with a date against the Pacers over the weekend.
