What do these people have in common? Let's see, Lebron James, James Jones, Eddie Jones, Eddie Murphy... get it? get it? no?
Allow me to make things clearer.
I was going home one day thinking about the chances of the Miami Heat (against Utah if I remember right), when I suddenly mentioned Lebron James and James Jones in succession inside my head. Then I played with the fact that one man's last name, is another man's first. Which gave me a great idea for an NBA game.
No. of Players: 2 or more (coz a game with only one player is just, sad)
Setting: players will form a circle (or if the space does not allow, like if you're trying to play this inside an elevator or while riding the MRT around 6-7pm, or if your friends are simply too high or too lazy to move their butts, just sit/stand/lie down/bend over anywhere you want as long as there'd be a definite rotation of turns)
Required Skill: a steady knowhow of people around the league, from players, to coaching staff, to management, to the announce team, ball boys, chearleaders, mascots, ushers, scalpers, etc.
Mechanics: Each player will take turns saying out names of people around the league. The next player must say a name with either the first name or last name identical to the name previously mentioned by the player that went before. The opening photo is an example (though Eddie Murphy doesn't count).
Infractions: If a player fails to mention a name within a specified time limit provided by the group, he or she would have to perform some sort of punishment also determined by the group. Or he or she could be eliminated from the game, until only one remains. It would also be left to the groups' choice if considerations would be made for names sounding alike but differing in spelling, like Chris Kaman -> Kris Humphries, or if a nickname would be allowed to be used, like Wesley Matthews -> Wes Unseld.
Get it now? Get it now? No? Then either you're inebriated, or you can't even walk and chew gum at the same time. I tried playing this with myself (which is like I said, sad), and it's quite fun actually. Perfect for dull moments in some reunion this holiday season. Enjoy ball ballers.
Hey, why don't we start a game now. I'll go first. Okay... first name is, Kellena Azubuike.
